I normally make the mulling wine when we are decorating the Christmas tree. It becomes a tradition in my house; having the Christmas music playing on the background, the fireplace that I started earlier and the smell of the aroma of the spices from the simmering of the mulling wine makes our house pleasant, warm and cozy.
I am sure you will enjoy this recipe as my family does, and maybe making mulling wine may become a tradition in your house as well.

1 bottle of red one 750 ml
2-anise star
6 pieces black pepper corn
6 pieces whole all spice
4 pieces cardamom
3 pieces crystallized ginger
1 stick cinnamon
3 whole cloves
2-tablespoon brown sugar
½ lemon peel
½ orange peel
STEPS:
In large saucepan, combine the red wine and all the ingredients and bring to a boil then let simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
Strain the spices and serve hot with your favorite Christmas cookies.
