CLASSIC PESTO RECIPE

One of the first recipes I mastered while I was living in Italy was the classic pesto, the one based on basil, Parmesan cheese and pine nuts. Then I have learned that the pesto can be adapted to many varieties according to your cooking preferences.

INGREDIENTS:

About ½ pound fresh basil leaves

½ cup pine nuts

½ cup olive oil

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

4 large garlic cloves

Sea salt to taste

STEPS:

Combine all the ingredients in food processor and purée until a smooth paste is formed.
