This popular Mediterranean fish is famous for its white, lean and delicate flesh. I find that the best part of the Branzino fish is that it can be prepared in many different ways such as baked, roasted, seared, or grilled. I personally like my Branzino baked with just basic seasonings such as salt, pepper, olive oil and fresh lemon as I am sure you are going to enjoy this simple recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Branzino cleaned and scaled
1/2 lemon thinly sliced
Olive oil
5 sprigs of thyme
1 clove of garlic
Salt and freshly grounded pepper to taste
STEPS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
First, start cleaning and scaling the Branzino very well and begin seasoning with salt and pepper and a drizzle of olive oil, (make sure you season the inner side as well). Then stuff the Branzino with shaved garlic, sprigs of thyme and slices of lemon.
Next, place the Branzino fish in a roasting pan and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until the fish is cooked and flaky, normally the cooking time depends on the size of the fish.
Serve hot with your favorite sides.
I made a classic pineapple salsa and sliced grilled pineapple as a side dish which turn to be great combination.
