This Classic French potato dish will transform you simple potatoes to a beautiful golden brown layer cake. Simple as layered thin sliced potatoes, melted butter and seasoned with salt and pepper.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pound russet potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
3 ounces melted butter
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
STEPS:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Peel the potatoes and start slicing very thin using the mandolin, then coat with melted butter.
Heat butter on an ovenproof sauté pan over low heat, and start placing layers of potatoes on concentric circles and season with salt and pepper until having a cake about an inch deep, briefly raise the heat to medium for 1 minute them drain any excess butter before transferring the pan to the oven for about 15 minutes and flip the cake and cook until golden brown.
