Steamed fresh crabs is all about enjoying the process eating them from cracking, picking and smashing. One needs to be patient to earn that delicate taste.
INGREDIENTS:
1Lb. wild live hardshell crabs
1 stack of celery sliced
1 bay leaf
1/2 lemon
1 sprig of thyme
Old Bay seasoning
Pinch of sea salt
STEPS:
Fill a large pot with a steamer rack on with water; add pinch of sea salt, celery, bay leaf, lemon and thyme.
Bring the liquid to a boil over high heat.
Carefully place the crabs on the steamer rack then cover the lid tightly. Steam until they turn bright orange and cooked through about 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove the crabs to a large bowl and sprinkle with your favorite seasoning such as Old Bay.
Serve with your favorite sauce.
